POP idol Brian Harvey was fighting for life last night after a major setback in hospital.
The ex-E17 singer — who fell under his car’s wheels — battled through a four-hour op on his abdomen.
But when doctors took him off the ventilator to get him to breathe on his own, his oxygen levels dropped drastically. And after just a few seconds he was put back on the machine.
Brian was yesterday still unconscious in intensive care at St George’s Hospital in Tooting, South London.
Parents Ian and Pauline and on-off model girlfriend Emma B were by his side and a source close to the family said: “Brian gave everyone a fright.
“When he was taken off the ventilator he wasn’t responding to them, his eyes didn’t focus.
“They were asking, ‘Brian can you hear me? He didn’t answer.
“It’s so scary. All we can do now is hope and pray.”
Emma added: “All we hear at the minute is bleep, bleep, there’s no movement, nothing.”
Brian, 30, has floated in and out of consciousness since he was rushed to hospital after falling out of his Mercedes as it reversed with the door open near his home in Walthamstow, East London.
His agent Simon Harrison said: “He’s in a very critical condition but stable on a life support machine and ventilator.
“There is no brain damage we know of but it’s touch and go whether he’ll pull through.”
