Former East 17 singer Brian Harvey has had an emergency throat operation to help him breathe.
The reality TV star underwent the tracheotomy procedure yesterday (09.06.05) as doctors help the star fight for his life.
Harvey, 32, is currently in a "controlled coma" after suffering terrible injuries last month in a bizarre car accident outside his east London home.
Harvey's mother Pauline and girlfriend, model Emma B, 25, are currently at his bedside at St George's Hospital in south London.
The singer has been in hospital since being run over by his own car last Tuesday (31.6.05). The star suffered a broken leg, shattered pelvis, punctured lung and damaged abdomen in the bizarre accident, when he was run over by his own car.
Yesterday, Harvey's agent Simon Morrison revealed he had been given the throat operation and that doctors were now planning to bring Harvey out of his coma.
Morrison said: "In some respects the signs are there, as while he's not worsening it would seem like there is some healing going on.
"So all we can hope for is that his body is healing itself from the inside."
