STRICKEN pop star Brian Harvey is being being kept in “controlled unconsciousness” by doctors, his agent said yesterday.

The ex-East 17 singer suffered life-threatening injuries after he fell out of his car while reversing at his home in Walthamstow, East London, and ran himself over.

He has had a series of operations on his lungs, abdomen and pelvis.

Harvey’s agent Simon Harrison said he was not in a coma but was being kept unconscious by doctors to aid his recovery.

Mr Harrison added: “Doctors can bring him out of it by reducing or stopping the medication. They tried to bring him out of it yesterday, but he was violently sick.

“At some point they will take X-rays of other parts of his body to see what else they need to repair.”

He said doctors had so far been unable to say to what degree 30-year-old Harvey — who is on a life-support machine — will recover long-term.
