Ex East 17 singer Brian Harvey is conscious and showing good signs of recovery, his agent said today.
The former pop star is being moved to St George's Hospital in Tooting to help him recover from the injuries he received to his legs and pelvis when he crashed his car on Tuesday morning.
The move comes the day after a seven hour operation on his stomach.
His agent Simon Harrison confirmed the troubled star was conscious and had acknowledged his mum "with a nod".
Both his parents and girlfriend, model Emma B, have been keeping a bedside vigil and will be with him when he is moved to the south London hospital to treat his shattered pelvis and two broken legs.
Having spoken to Harvey's father Mr Harrison said: "The early signs that he will recover from yesterday's operation are good, thank God.
"They are now moving him to St George's Hospital in Tooting, who are much more able to deal with multiple injuries as he needs more work on his pelvis and legs.
"The fact that they are moving him so soon after the operation is a good sign of his recovery."
Talking about how Harvey's parents are coping he added: "I spoke to his dad who was hit very hard and both him and Brian's mum are holding a bedside vigil and keeping their finger's crossed.
"He was conscious this morning and acknowledged his mum being there with a nod, she spoke to him and he nodded in response.
"He had fairly serious injuries and he has been on the critical list, so these early signs of a good recovery from it are encouraging."
