Former East 17 star Brian Harvey is hoping to follow in the footsteps of jungle star Peter Andre by reviving his singing career off the back of the show.

Brian says he has been after a record deal for some time and, now that he is taking part in the show, doors have been opened to him.

But despite Peter's success - he re-released Mysterious Girl and the track Insania also topped the charts - Brian thinks the singer was too cheesy!

Despite his background as a singer Brian isn't planning any camp fire ditties: "I'm not going to sit in a circle and have a sing-a-long. If that's what they think, it ain't happening."

"More than likely, while I'm just getting on with the day, I'll probably be singing to myself. But I'm not going to go there and make a show out of it - that's not me."

Brian isn't worried about the other people in the camp and what they might think of him.

"All I'm going to do is go in there and be me. If people like me, they like me.

"If they don't, f*** 'em. There's nothing I can do to change it. You can't like everyone!"

Brian sounds like a perfect camp manager, then...

Ex-East 17 singer Brian Harvey is clearly serious about using the show to stage a Peter Andre-style pop comeback.

Brian has reportedly already recorded a single, called SOS (In the Jungle), to be released on his exit from the camp.

Which may just persuade the British public to keep him in for as long as possible.

See you soon
