UPDATE

As you know the cd was planned for the 16/12 but it has been cancelled cause Brian didn't have time to finish the song.
I will let you know as soon as i will hear something.

Hello!!

Former EAST 17 star BRIAN HARVEY is re-releasing the band’s biggest hit on the day the Popstars girls bring out the same track.
Stay Another Day had already been chosen as the debut single of Popstars: The Rivals winners GIRLS ALOUD.

The song was East 17’s biggest hit, staying at No1 for five weeks in 1994.

But after hearing NICOLA ROBERTS, NADINE COYLE, KIMBERLEY WALSH, CHERYL TWEEDY and SARAH HARDING were doing a cover, Brian went to work on an updated version.
The controversial singer has re-recorded the vocals and will bring it out on December 16 — the same day as Girls Aloud.

Brian rang The Sun yesterday to tell he can’t wait to battle it out with the TV band.
He said: “I am well up for it and very excited about releasing the song.
It has been a long time.
“It has always been a special song to me because we had so much success with it. It became our anthem.
“I decided to give it a bit of a re-vamp but kept a lot of the original sound. It’s still a classic Christmas single. When I heard the Popstars girls were releasing it, I thought it would be fun to bring it out on the same day.
“Their version will probably go in at No1 and mine will get as high as 148. But it’s the buzz of having a record out that I miss.
“Maybe it’s time to get my fluffy Eskimo coat out again and stand around a piano — like we did in the original video.”

Stay Another Day was originally written by Brian’s ex-bandmate TONY MORTIMER. The track was East 17’s only No1 — although they had ten other Top Ten hits.

See ya...
