Ex-East 17 star Brian Harvey, from east London, has given hope of recovering from a bizarre car accident by briefly regaining consciousness in hospital.

Harvey, from Walthamstow, is critically ill after being crushed under his own car, but has responded to his name.
The 30-year-old's manager, Simon Harrison, rejected speculation that the "freak accident" was a suicide attempt. .
